There was a huge turn out at Rivermead Leisure Complex for the Reading Rockets Awards night on Friday.

The League, championship, Play-off winners trophies as well as the National Cup and National Trophy took pride of place and while the senior men deserved the plaudits there is much more to the club than just one team.

The club run 12 squads including two for ladies and there have been plenty of other success stories as well as that achieved by the senior men. Each squad were called forward in turn to receive momentos of the season with three members collecting individual awards for most valuable player, most improved player and coaches award.

The top award of the night went to American import Terell Smith who not only collected the trophy for Most Valuable Player but the Supporter Club Player of the Year as well to round off a perfect season.

The presentations were made by Iain Akhurst director of sport at Reading University and managing director of the Reading Rockets Gary Johnson.
