Rockets Satellite Tournament Takes Off

May Half Term saw one of the first Rockets Satellite Tournaments held at JMA in South Reading. The day allowed all children who are currently part of the Rockets Satellite programme to come together and compete in their satellite teams.

After some skills and drills with the Rockets coaches the players got into an afternoon of games allowing them to try out some of the skills they have learnt in their sessions whilst also being able to get some guidance from the Coaches.

After some extremely close games Earley and Caversham fought their way to the final in an end to end exciting game of basketball.

Earley were eventually crowned the champions and now take home the Rockets Satellite shield in which they get to keep until the next tournament.

Well Done Earley

Ben Fisher who is Rockets Camp director was really pleased with how the day went. “It was great to see all the children that work so hard week in and week out at their sessions being able to show off their talent and really work together as a team to compete”

In September Rockets will be launching their Satellite league which will enable the children in the teams to compete each month for the chance to win the Satellite shield.
