Reading Rockets are delighted to announce that Claire Maytham will be taking on the role of the Head Coach of their women's Division 2 National league team next season. Claire has had a hugely successful basketball career including playing at both division 2 and 1 for Spelthorne, Solent and Sheffield in which she received player of the year  in the season 1999-2000 and 2003-2004. She has played in the English universities' team between 1995 and 1998 and also was selected for the GB university team in 1995.

Claire will be bringing with her a wealth of knowledge from her years in the National league but also her experiences from GB  and England in which she has represented England at u15, u17 (in which she was captain), and u18’s including 2 European championships and home nations.

As a senior she represented England from 1998-2006  receiving 49 England caps. Her greatest achievement to date is being captain of the bronze medal winning commonwealth team.

Claire is looking forward to her next challenge and  to working with the Rockets in building a successful women's programme to complement the female junior programme at the club.
