Whitley Rockets claim second title in a row

Small-bb0001-300

Whitley Rockets remained undefeated as they lifted their second trophy in as many months to be crowned November's winners. The Whitley team won all five league games to retain the title and did so in style scoring a tournament high 30 points in one game. With six teams participating, this was one of Rockets best tournaments yet as two teams from Earley claimed second and third places. Finchampstead Rockets played in their first ever tournament and recorded their first win against a well-established Caversham team who will be working hard in training to re-claim a title they won last season. Tilehurst Rockets recorded two wins from five games but were missing some influential players and they will be looking to win their first title in a couple of months when the tournament returns in January. An excellent morning with some fantastic basketball played by over 30 children at the John Madejski Academy!

Points came early from Prunty and Lear insimide who rebounded well against a strong Solent presence. Solent clawed back in the second quarter and the Rockets side struggled to keep their momentum from the first quarter which saw the Rockets with only an 8 point lead at the half despite some great defensive work by Kingston in the back court.
